We understand that sending your own engineers to cover deep-field areas on a one-off basis can result in high mileage and time-consuming, unproductive journeys.

We can cover these areas for you using our engineers that are closer, allowing us to react quicker and be more cost effective than internally resourced options may be.

Our engineers are accustomed to representing numerous customers, sometimes at different times throughout the same day! We understand that some of the apprehensions around outsourcing resource are based around a “stranger” representing your brand. However, with our white-label service, we strive to ensure we understand the culture of your brand so when our engineers are deployed, you can rest assured that everything you stand for will be everything we represent.

CHIP & PIN REFRESH
Retailer

Our customer needed to update their chip & pin devices to the latest contactless hardware.

Our engineers completed P2PE-compliant installations at over 1400+ retail locations throughout the UK over a 4-week period.

Despite these installations taking place during normal business hours, disruption to the client was kept to an absolute minimum throughout the project.

EPOS REFRESH
Retailer

Our customer was updating their EPOS hardware platform to an updated version throughout their full UK estate.

Our engineers installed all new hardware while removing the old. They also provided hands-on training to branch managers during the sign-off process to ensure a smooth transition for all employees.

Refresh activity was completed overnight to minimise any commercial impact on sales.

NETWORK DEVICES UPDATE
Retailer

This customer required all Cisco router hardware be replaced at all 720 of their sites throughout the UK.

Our engineers commissioned the new networking equipment and completed the cutover to new fibre, ASDL and 4G data lines.

All old networking hardware was decommissioned, packed and removed for secure recycling/disposal.

EPOS HARDWARE REFRESH
Retailer

This client needed to upgrade the memory and hard drives in their current EPOS devices. Once the upgrades were installed, the hardware was migrated to a new OS platform.

Over 500 locations around the UK were visited throughout the project.

To reduce the operational risk to the customer, installations were completed in the evening - with all activity managed remotely by our project team.

STORE RENOVATION
Retailer

Customer retail locations were being renovated. All EPOS hardware needed to deinstalled and stored offsite while the building works were taking place.

Our engineers would revisit immediately prior to reopening and reinstall all of the previously removed hardware

The reailer also chose to refresh or upgrade the hardware on some sites at the same time depending on the age or condition of the existing equipment.

UK & European Retailer

This customer was looking to complete a full hardware refresh but need more accurate data on the devices currently deployed throughout it's estate.

Our engineers visited all of the customers retail locations throughout the UK & Europe, completing detailed audit surveys and capturing photographs of store layouts and configurations.

At the end of the audit process we supplied a the customer with a exhaustive asset registry which they used to plan a full hardware refresh project.

Coffeehouse Chain

The customer needed to update their chip & pin devices to the latest contactless devices, to ensure compatibility with emerging technologies such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Abalon delivered a fully P2PE-compliant solution at 300+  locations throughout the UK, including a number of offshore locations.

Fast Food Franchisee

Our customer, a franchisee group for a major fast food restaurant, required a full EPOS refresh (POS, PEDs and back of house) as their current hardware was no longer capable of hosting the latest version of the brand OS and applications.

Branches were visited by our deployment teams in the early mornings, prior to site opening, to minimise operational disruption.

Our customer needed to replace all of their EPOS and back office PCs following a group acquisition.

Our engineers completed visits to all affected branches and replaced all EPOS hardware, while removing the old equipment for ITAD via a trusted partner.

College

Our customer, a major UK College was migrating it's data network provider and took the opportunity to replace all Cisco hardware at it's buildings throughout the campus. 

New routers were installed, commissioned and cutover by our engineers and all old kit was processed for recycling via our ITAD partner.

 

DECOMMISSION
University

A number of buildings at this University's campus were due to be consolidated, following a review.

We decommissioned all of the IT hardware in each of the locations and completed an audit document, per location, which detailed all of the equipment removed.

HARDWARE REFRESH
Secondary School

This school required a full hardware refresh both in classrooms and offices, which was completed by our onsite engineers.

The refresh activity was completed during the summer break by our DBS-certified project team, with additional floor-walking support during the first week of the new term.

OS MIGRATION
Government Department

This was a multi-site OS migration involving both desktop and laptop users for a large UK Government department of 5,500+ users.

The complexity of the OS migration was increased due to a large amount of bespoke user set-ups, inconsistent historical handling of user data and unique software customisations.

 

SMART ENERGY MONITORS
Local Council

installation of smart energy monitors in 500 homes for an environmental impact study.

A selection of smart sensors were installed into resident's properties to measure energy usage, temperature, ambient light, humidity and CO/CO2 levels.

The data was then gathered and processed for analysis via a smart hub.

HARDWARE STAGING
Print Solutions Specialist

Working from within our client's warehousing facility, we supplied a team of build engineers to complete pre-delivery staging work for a large-scale printer deployment.

Our team updated the software on all of the devices, customised the devices with specific hardware and consumable configurations prior to re-packing the items for onwards shipping.

PRINTER DEPLOYMENT
Sports Brand

This UK-wide deployment required the installation and configuration of new network printers across this sports brand's locations.

This opportunity had originally been given to another supplier who fell through and Abalon were tasked with stepping in at the last minute to rescue the project.

The project was completed to the original schedule and on-budget, despite us only becoming involved at the 11th hour.

Hardware Manufacturer

Our client had been tasked with replacing the incumbent managed print services with a new solution. As records of the existing devices, layouts and configurations were incomplete, a detailed site survey was required at each customer location to ensure that the new print solution could be built to the right specification.
